Investment Issue: A leveraged credit group client was analyzing a loan it was making to a Native American tribe to secure land to build a casino. Our client needed an independent third-party regulatory expert to verify the tribe’s representation regarding local regulatory risk, to better understand the state’s licensing process, as well as to review outstanding federal tribal recognition issues, prior to proceeding with their investment.

Public Insight's Solution: Public Insight facilitated consultations for our client with Analyst Network members – one who was familiar with the state Attorney General’s office that had oversight of the local issue, and one who was a former senior official in the U.S. Department of the Interior, which houses the Bureau of Indian Affairs.
