Investment Issue: A leveraged credit group client was analyzing a loan it was making to a Native American tribe to secure land to build a casino. The client needed an independent third-party regulatory expert to verify the tribe’s representation regarding local regulatory risk, to better understand the state’s licensing process, as well as to review outstanding federal tribal recognition issues, prior to proceeding with their investment.
